Dr. Arshad Hussain is a dedicated endocrinologist with over a decade of committed service to the Pakistan Endocrine Society (since 2015). Through strong relationships, strategic initiatives, and consistent leadership, he has contributed to PES at both local and national levels.

A. Guideline Development & National Contributions
• PES Backbone: o Played a central role in shaping the T2DM Guidelines and Ramadan & Diabetes Guidelines, adapting global standards to Pakistan’s needs. o Served on multiple PES committees.

B. Scientific & Educational Leadership
Event Powerhouse:  Member, Scientific Committee over the years, Chief Organizer, Midsummer Conference 

• Consistently delivers talks at annual and midsummer PES conferences.
• Recognized as the go-to last-minute speaker.

Training Trailblazer: o Mentored endocrine fellows in training since 2019.
Associate Dean for Postgraduate Training (since 2018), overseeing 160 FCPS trainees and 150 house officers. o Secured training recognition for 16 departments (FCPS & MCPS) in my institution.

D. CME & Outreach Expansion
• CME Expansion to Rural KPK: o Took PES CMEs beyond major cities, actively empowering scientific and executive members. • Institution-Based CMEs: o Conducted all CMEs as VP within medical institutions rather than hotels, including thematic symposiums. • District Hospital Outreach: o Delivered PES CMEs to district hospitals, strengthening teamwork and local capacity. • Endolympics: o Successfully organized annually in KPK. • Endo Hub: o Founding Member & regular contributor.

E. Research, Collaboration & Advocacy
• Promotes a strong research culture among fellows; advocates actively for PES-funded research and collaborates with partner organizations. • Raises public awareness on endocrine disorders through social media engagement. • Organized multiple collaborative CMEs with: o SOGP o Pediatric Society o Psychology groups o Bariatric Surgery Society o Other allied specialty bodies

Envisioning PES as Pakistan’s leading endocrine powerhouse by 2030.

A. Workforce & Training
• Reduce the endocrine specialist shortage through increased fellowship slots and establishment of new training units. • Support FCPS Endocrinology fellows in becoming supervisors. • Collaborate closely with CPSP to improve national training standards.

B. National Health Impact
• Launch national diabetes and obesity registries. • Expand the Pakistan Diabetes Prevention Program to communities and schools. • Strengthen public awareness campaigns on: o Diabetes o Thyroid disorders o Youth metabolic risks/obesity • Develop educational packages for non-endocrine clinicians nationwide.

C. Research, Innovation & Digital Future
• Promote early involvement of fellows in PES committees to encourage innovation.
• Digitize PESCON into a hybrid national summit for 1,000+ attendees. • Build sustainable strategies in anticipation of 62 million projected diabetes cases by 2045.

D. Empowering Fellows in Training
• Protected academic time. • Digital mentorship hubs. • Free access to journals and a central knowledge database.

E. Strengthening International Ties
• Build deeper collaborations with regional and global endocrine societies.
