Abstract Submission Guidelines – Terms of Reference (TORs)
1. General Information
The Pakistan Endocrine Society invites the submission of original abstracts for oral and poster presentations at PESCON 2025.
- Abstracts should reflect original research, clinical studies, case reports, audits, or educational innovations related to endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
- Submissions are open to healthcare professionals, allied healthcare professionals, researchers, fellows, residents, and medical students with an interest in endocrinology.
2. Important Dates
- Abstract Submission Opens: 19 June, 2025
- Submission Deadline: July 30, 2025 – typically 2–3 months before the conference
- Notification of Acceptance: September 15, 2025
3. Abstract Categories
Authors may submit abstracts under the following categories:
- Diabetes Mellitus
- Thyroid Disorders
- Adrenal and Pituitary Disorders
- Osteoporosis and Bone Metabolism
- Pediatric Endocrinology
- Reproductive Endocrinology
- Lipid and Metabolic Disorders
- Obesity and Nutrition
- Endocrine Tumors and Oncology
- Basic and Translational Endocrinology
- Endocrine Education and Public Health
4. Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must be submitted online via the email address provided below under Contact Details.
- Word limit: Maximum 300 words, excluding title and author information.
Structure:
- Title: Concise and descriptive.
- Authors: Full names, affiliations, and corresponding author contact information.
- Body: Must include the following headings:
Background:
- Objective
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
- Abstracts must be in English and free of typographical or grammatical errors.
- A maximum of two abstracts per presenting author will be accepted.
- Use standard abbreviations; spell out uncommon abbreviations the first time they are used.
- Do not include tables, figures, or references in the abstract.
- Previously published or presented abstracts will not be accepted unless there is significant new data or analysis.
5. Ethical Considerations
- Research involving human or animal subjects must include a statement of ethical approval.
- All authors must confirm that the content of the abstract is original and does not infringe copyright.
6. Review and Selection Process
- All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the PES Scientific Committee.
- Selection is based on scientific merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to endocrinology.
- Authors will be notified of the acceptance decision by the specified date.
- The committee reserves the right to assign the presentation format (oral or poster).
7. Presentation Requirements
- Accepted abstracts must be presented by one of the listed authors.
- Oral and poster presenters will be provided specific guidelines upon acceptance.
- Failure to present without prior notice may result in disqualification from future submissions.
8. Awards and Recognition
- Outstanding abstracts may be selected for Best Oral Presentation and Best Poster Awards
- Awards will be announced during the conference closing ceremony.
