Abstract Submission Guidelines for Authors

The Pakistan Endocrine Society (PES) invites the submission of abstracts for presentation at the Annual Conference (PESCON). Original Research and Case Reports related to endocrinology, diabetes, metabolism, and allied specialties are welcome. Accepted abstracts will be published in the official PESCON Abstract Book. All accepted abstracts will be presented as poster presentations, while selected high-scoring abstracts will be invited for oral poster presentations during the scientific program.

Submission Requirements

  • The abstract should not exceed 300 words (excluding the title, authors and affiliations, keywords, tables, figures, and references).
  • A maximum of 2 tables and 2 figures/graphs may be included.
  • A maximum of 5 references may be included, using the Vancouver referencing style.
  • Use standard abbreviations and define them at first mention.
  • Use generic drug names wherever applicable.
  • Clearly identify the presenting author.
  • The presenting author’s email address and contact number are mandatory and must be provided at the time of submission.
  • Abstracts may have been presented previously at a scientific meeting but must not have been published in a journal.

Ethical Considerations

  • Approval from the relevant Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee
  • Authors are responsible for the originality, accuracy, and scientific integrity of their submission

Review Process

All abstracts will undergo peer review by the PES Scientific Committee. Evaluation will be based on originality, scientific merit, methodology, relevance, scientific quality, and clarity of presentation.

Presentation and Publication

  • All accepted abstracts will be published in the official PESCON Abstract Book.
  • All accepted abstracts will be presented as poster presentations.
  • Selected abstracts, based on peer-review scores, will be invited for oral poster presentations.
  • At least one registered author must present the accepted abstract at the conference.
  • The decision of the Scientific Committee regarding acceptance and presentation format shall be final.
